Mark S. Slaughter, M.D. is the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana Professor and Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Louisville and the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute Medical Director. Dr. Slaughter serves as the Surgical Director of Heart Transplant and MCS at the University of Louisville Heart Hospital. He is the past President of the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs and the International Society of Rotary Blood Pumps. Dr. Slaughter currently serves as a reviewer for NIH SBIR grants and is the Editor in Chief of the ASAIO Journal.
