An assistant professor at the time, Kim’s primary host institution was Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, under the mentorship of AATS Past President, Thoralf M. Sundt, III. He also spent time at the Cleveland Clinic and Hermann Memorial Hospital at the University of Texas. During his fellowship, he participated in 11 research papers, serving as first author on eight of them.
