The American Association for Thoracic Surgery Honorary Fellow appointment was established by the Association in 2020. The Award serves to recognize individuals who are not cardiothoracic surgeons but have made major contributions to the fields of cardiac or thoracic surgery. Honorees receive a Certificate as an Honorary Fellow from the Association presented by the President at the Annual Meeting and the honoree’s name and biography is printed in the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
