Travel Awards for the AATS Annual Meeting
Toronto, Canada | May 4 - May 7, 2019

Surgeons from around the world at under-resourced medical centers who treat heart valve disease patients in underserved populations are eligible for a limited number travel awards (up to $2,000) to attend the the 2019 AATS Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada.

To apply for a travel award, physicians must complete the online application and provide information on the role they currently play in serving underserved individuals, as well as how attending the AATS Annual Meeting will increase their knowledge and skills to provide optimum care for their own patients. Successful applicants will be reimbursed up to $2,000 after the conclusion of the AATS Annual Meeting to assist with airfare and hotel accommodations.

Review Process

The AATS Foundation’s Travel Award Committee will review and grade all applicants based on the specific award criteria, with an emphasis on the impact the award may have on treating the underserved population in the applicants’ home country.

  • 250-word essay on how attending the AATS Annual Meeting will help you expand your practice of treating underserved patients with heart valve disease.  Preference will be given to those who also demonstrate a financial need.
