The Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and
Education was established in December of 1989 to identify, encourage and
provide for the education and research needs in thoracic surgery. The
Foundation is entirely supported through private donations
The American Association for Thoracic Surgery, The
Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and
The Western Thoracic Surgical Association fully endorse and encourage the work
of the Foundation. The sixteen-member Board of Directors is comprised of
representatives nominated by these groups.
