Objectives
The 1992
postgraduate course in congenital heart disease will cover three topics:
pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum, deep hypothermia and
circulatory arrest, and the Fontan procedure. This course will provide in
depth coverage of these three challenging and evolving areas of congenital
heart disease. There will be specific instruction in the morphology of
various lesions, indications for the different surgical procedures, technical
details (including cardiopulmonary bypass and myocardial protection) and
long-term results. Lectures and discussions will focus on controversial areas
within each topic, highlighting alternate approaches as applicable.
Registration
Enrollment in this
course will be by pre-registration until March 27, 1992. Registration forms
will be processed in the order in which they are received and must be
